Privacy
Privacy policy
This policy applies to the Android app IT Asset Lifecycle (version 1.0.0) and the website itassetlifecycle.sbs. In short: the app stores everything on your device and sends nothing.
1. Who is responsible and how to contact us
For privacy questions and for requests about access or deletion, contact us at [email protected]. This is the only address for support and privacy.
2. What the app processes
The app only processes what you enter yourself: registers (name, organisation, notes, tags, locations, service lives, asset tag prefix and a yearly price rise), devices (type, model, asset tag, serial number, supplier, purchase date, price, location, status, warranty and support end dates, service life, replacement cost, stock-check date, tags and notes), the issue log (the name of the employee who received a device, dates, condition at issue and return, “confirmed” marks and notes), the history of changes, your own templates and settings.
3. Stored only on your device
All data is kept in the app's private storage on your device. There is no account, no server and no cloud synchronisation. The app has no internet permission and therefore cannot send data; it does not look up warranties online, scan networks or manage devices. We, the provider, receive none of your data and can neither see nor restore it.
4. Export, sharing and backup
Data leaves the device only when you do it yourself: you can send an inventory as a CSV or PDF file and a backup of all data as a JSON file through the Android share menu to an app of your choice, or save the file in a folder you choose. What happens to these files afterwards is governed by the terms of that app or storage location. When importing, the app reads a file you pick locally.
5. Information about employees
The issue log contains the names of people who received devices. They stay only on your device and appear only in exports and backups you make. If you use the app for a firm, you decide what to record and are responsible for informing your staff; the app needs no email addresses, phone numbers, photos or signatures. Share exports and backups only with people who need them.
6. Permissions
The app requests no permissions: no location, camera, microphone, contacts, access to photos or files, and no notifications. It opens and saves files only through the Android pickers.
7. No adverts, no analytics, no tracking
The app contains no adverts, no analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools, uses no advertising ID and has no in-app purchases.
8. Retention and deletion
Your data stays stored until you delete it: single devices, records or registers in the app, everything under “More › Backup and data › Delete all data”, or by uninstalling the app. Exported files and backups stay wherever you saved or sent them.
9. This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party services; fonts and images are loaded from our own server. The server may briefly keep technically necessary access logs (for example IP address, time and page requested) to run the site securely.
10. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 — and the EU GDPR where it applies — you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Because we receive no data from the app, you can exercise these rights directly in the app. For anything else, write to [email protected].
11. Children
The app is a business tool for adults and is not directed at children.
12. Changes
If the way the app handles data changes, we will update this policy and publish the new version on this page.
Applies to version 1.0.0 of the app.
